This year, 126 products were entered for the Innovation Awards by 106 exhibitors. It is interesting to note that more and more of these used renewables. Systems using these products are already appearing on the market and show that it is possible to go even further in saving energy costs. Many products and systems offer improved building insulation, in accordance with the 2010 Thermal Regulations. Systems to improve site safety formed another class of product that was more strongly represented and particular efforts have been made to increase ease of use. Finally, there were a number of systems designed to ensure renovated buildings fully comply with the ‘handicapped’ law without causing problems by requiring substantial work to the existing structure.
