International Events 2011

Brazil, Country Of The Year

With the 2014 Football World Cup and the 2016 Olympic Games, Brazil is in the middle of an economic boom and undertaking numerous large scale projects that are at the forefront of intelligent construction. It is fitting therefore that it will be the country of the year at BATIMAT 2011. Personalities from the construction market will be taken part through many activities and meetings on the show. Conferences and discussions will take place on current issues in Brazil, construction projects or on best achievements in Brazil. In 2009, 1,361 Brazilians visited BATIMAT, making Brazil the fifth largest source of foreign visitors.

German Day

Germany is an example of economic success in Europe. This country is also exemplary regarding sustainable development in the building sector. That is why BATIMAT 2011 dedicated an entire day to Germany: Tuesday, November 8th. On that day, the Architects’ Meeting morning will be dedicated to German architects, while in the afternoon, on the Building News Forum, will be presented a comparison between the building practices for individual houses in France and Germany (water and energy management, accessibility…). Exhibitors/visitors meetings will be organized.
