'The "shadow management" function is dedicated to any kind of commercial building that requires a precise control of the sun shades. Based on a 3D model of the building and it's environment, it calculates the exact position of the shadow on the façade at any time and date of the year and manages each sun shade individually. The main benefits for the occupant is a better working environment thanks to the optimal use of natural light and for the building owner/tenant a more energy effiscient building. This solution can be proposed either by the façade maker that may subcontract the installation and programming or directly to the electrical integrator. The shadow management requires digital bus technologies in order to address each shade individually, it can run on Animeo KNX, Animeo Lon or Variosys. With the new RT 2012 taking effect at the end of 2011, this function will surely help to comply to the drastic drop of energy consuption required for new commercial buildings.
