'This concept represents a decisive step in nthe development of energy-active building envelopes. It ensures that building envelopes are adapted to environmental conditions. This are contributing to reducing construction-related CO2-emissions and helping to loimit the rate of global warming to a maximum of 2°. The dual energy-active components consistes of an adaptative system of functional layers and a thermally-active wall element. This layer system allows the adaptation of the functions of a building's façade to suit individual needs. The thermally-active wall element, with its integrated ventilation unit, reduces the amount of energy required to heat or cool the rooms.
