The Francophone countries in the spotlight

The Francophonie, representing 84 States and governments, is the guest of honor at Le Mondial du Bâtiment.
Having French as a common language, increases opportunities for companies in the French-speaking world to develop business with one another. It is therefore a potential source for growth.


All week long, you will learn a lot about the dynamism, attractiveness and diversity of the 84 States and governments, with their numerous construction projects in the pipeline to meet their needs: a growing population, major housing, transportation and infrastructure projects, high demand for access to education and culture, etc.


Ideally located in hall 6, the pavilion of the International Organisation of La Francophonie, animated by the Institut de la Francophonie pour le développement durable, will be a key stop for you:

  • You will be able to meet experts from high potential regions, such as North Africa and the Sub-Saharan region, and experts from French-speaking European countries.
  • You will be able to attend conferences around four major themes:
    • The challenge of social housing: “To build fast, build well, build appropriately and build sustainably”
    • The challenges facing Africa's green cities: "Is galloping urbanisation encroaching on green cities?"
    • The challenges of local subcontracting in the building and civil engineering sector: north-south cooperation, upgrading, training and innovation
    • The regional new buildings energy efficiency code in the countries of the West African Economic and Monetary Union (UEMOA).
  • You will be able to develop your network.

A great cycle of conferences addressing “the key issues affecting sustainable construction in the countries in the Francophonie network” will take place in the “Regard sur l'Architecture” forum in Hall 5A from 01:00 pm to 06:30 pm on Tuesday 7 November.
Ministers, secretaries of states, presidents of federations, representatives of international organisms will take the stage to address these issues.
